Taplow House
As a Buckinghamshire wedding photographer there are many lovely wedding venues close by but when Lucy & Darren got in touch and said they were having their wedding reception at Taplow House I was so excited. Taplow house is a beautiful understated Manor House with huge grounds, you can almost always spot rabbits or deer in the gardens during spring and summer (you might even get a photo with them in the background if your lucky)
I started my day getting photos of Lucy getting ready with her very glamorous bridesmaids at Taplow house, they had a lovely large room with a huge window filling the room with natural light, perfect! The wedding ceremony took place at All Saints Church in Maidenhead, where they had a very traditional service including some of their closest friends and family to be apart of their day.
When the ceremony had finished and the guests started to flow out into the grounds the sun was beaming. The weather was perfect as the guests made their way to Taplow house for the reception where they enjoyed sitting out on the patio eating the delicately handmade canapés. I always like to leave the bride and groom to enjoy this moment with their guests as they won’t have had much chance to chat to them until this point, especially the bride. I love to capture the fun and laughter between the couple and their friends and family.
Once everyone had enjoyed a little food and a glass of bubbly I got started on the group shots and then everyone headed in for their meal. For Lucy & Darren the timings of their day meant that fitting in couple photos before dinner just wasn’t going to work so we planned to get get some photos in-between courses. This is exactly why I like to plan ahead for each wedding I photograph, each wedding is different and what might work for one may not work for another and I don’t want the photography to effect your schedule. I would hate to delay food for your guests or be the reason you are late for your meal so I make sure I have worked out just how much time we have for different photos throughout the day.
Taking time out between meals worked out perfectly, it meant that we had the grounds to ourselves while the guests were inside and Lucy & Darren could enjoy a little bit of time on their own too.
The day ended with a very intimate party in the basement bar at Taplow House, called ‘Woofy’s’. Woofy’s has low ceilings and dim lighting to give the perfect party atmosphere and the dancefloor was in an awesome space with a curved ceiling and disco lighting.
