A summer family generation photography session

Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing baby Nina’s newborn session and I was over the moon to be asked to come back 9 months later and shoot a summer generation session while grandparents where visiting. It is always lovely to revisit and photograph a family again, to see how the children have changed and to capture those changes too.

Family generation photography sessions do take some planning, having a large number of people in the session and a list of family variations to capture means it lasts longer then a family photography session normally would. I allow two hours for a generation session so we aren’t rushing through, we want it to be natural. As we all know two hours is a long time for children to focus for so to keep children interested and entertained it is always a good idea to bring toys or games along to the session. Some of these games and toys can play a big part in capturing the most natural and fun shots of the session, so they are definitely worth bringing.

I love photographing outdoor session and now is the best time to do it, summer is hear, the trees are full of leaves and flowers are blooming. There are a number of locations I return to again and again but the best locations are the ones that mean something to you so I am always happy to photograph at new locations too.

If you are thinking about having a family or generation photography session this summer then please contact me for more information and available dates.

Time for tea and a chat!  I would be happy to come to you to discuss your ideas and talk through the moments you want to capture.
