Hyde House Winter Wedding

Anna & Kevin’s Cotswold Wedding

Back in February when weddings were all going ahead without question, and the world was a much more normal place I was having an amazing time capturing Anna & Kevin’s Hyde House winter wedding in the Cotswolds.

Myself and Anna went to school together, many years ago (god I feel old), so it was a lovely surprise to hear from her after she got engaged. I’m so lucky that my job connects me with old friends and creates wonderful new relationships too. It was lovely to catch up with her after so many years and meet Kevin and their gorgeous dog Alfie (who featured heavily in their engagement shoot).

I was in love with their Cotswold winter wedding right from the beginning! With both Anna & Kevin working in creative roles they had lots of great ideas and vision for their big day, including stationary they designed together and a venue to die for. If you haven’t seen Hyde House before you are definitely going to want to take a look. This is the ultimate British wedding venue, set in the beautiful Cotsworld village of Stow-on-the-Wold. Everything about this place oozes character and country charm.

On the final run up to the big day it was clear we were going to have deal with the rain. As always I was prepared with my trusty clear umberlla and a waterproof jacket but Anna & Kevin had it sorted. Not only did they have an umbrella for themselves but they had a little collection of umbrellas for the bridalparty too. This meant we could head out into the elements and still capture awesome photos!

My plan, as always, is to try and keep the couple out of the rain as much as possible. However due to a delay in getting one of the buildings unlocked we found ourselves imporvising out in the rain and wind. It couldn’t have worked out better!

We took some of my favourite shots during this time, capturing Anna & Kevin having fun and really embracing the day and everythng it threw at them.

For me, these images show just how epic a wedding can be in the rain, you just have grab an umbrella and go for it!

I have loved working on this incredible wedding. With all their unique ideas like their stripped-down bowling pin center pieces, decorated beautifully by The Flower Boutique MK. Capturing all the personal touches and details that made their day unique and spending time in the rain with them was awesome! I hope to work with Hyde House again very soon.
