Wedding Photography Experience
I thought it would be important and helpful to provide some information on ‘your wedding photography experience’. Planning a wedding can get very complicated, with so much to remember and organise. So I wanted to give you as much information upfront as possible so you know what to expect and when with your wedding photography.
Picking your wedding photographer is an important decision, you want to feel comfortable and relaxed on your big day. It is also important that the photographers style works in harmony with your own. Once a couple have been in contact with me, the next step is to arrange to meet up. I love meeting couples over a coffee to discuss their wedding plans and I would recommend this to every couple before confirming your booking. If you think we are compatible then it is time to book your wedding photography with me. I would suggest booking as far in advance as possible to guarantee your wedding date is still available. There are a number of occasions and opportunities that allow me to meet with each couple a number of times, which is great for building a relationship.
It is very important for me to visit your venue ahead of your big day. Not only is this another opportunity for me to meet with you and catch up on how your plans are going but also allows me to get a much clearer picture of what your day will be like. I can see what the lighting might be like and pick out the best spots for couple shots.
With every wedding photography package I offer a complimentary engagement session. These sessions are the best opportunity for you to experience being in front of the camera, it means you can relax a little bit more when we do it again on your wedding day. You also get some beautiful photos of you and your partner before you become ‘Mr & Mrs’, which can be used as a wonderful framed ‘guest book’ at your wedding.
A couple of weeks before your wedding I will send you a final plan of the day including your photography. It will give you a clear idea of how the photography (group/couple shots) will fit in with the running of your day. It is important to mention that I can arrange further meetings with you before your big day if you wish.
On your wedding day I aim to capture genuine emotions and events in an unobtrusive manner, subtly telling the story of your day.
After your wedding day it is usually 4-6 weeks before the final gallery is ready to view. I do love writing blogs on my wedding couples to show off the beautiful dresses, venues and fun of the day. Blogs are posted a week or two before each gallery is complete so you get a wonderful sneak peek. (You will have the option to opt out of the blog if you wish to).
Once you have seen your final gallery I copy all of the images onto my lovely Wedding USB and send them out to you in Katrina Matthews Photography handmade packaging.
