Colourful DIY Summer Wedding
Eversholt Hall wedding photography
This epic colourful DIY summer wedding was dreamt up by Harry and Charlie, along with their close friends and family. They got everyone involved in the planning of their DIY summer wedding at Eversholt hall to produce one of the most colourful and fun filled wedding days I have ever had the pleasure to photograph.
It was actually extra special for me as Harry and Charlie have been friends of mine for a long time. Within minutes of us discussing their wedding plans I knew it was going to be amazing. These guys are so chilled and so much fun I just knew they would be up for anything and we would have a right laugh.
Harry and Charlie got married on the 28th of July 2018 in Eversholt. A beautiful little village in Bedfordshire, with the venue overlooking the picturesque village green. Their DIY summer fete wedding included a family band playing out on the green, an ice cream cart serving delicious ice cream sundaes, a beautiful three tiered cake made by a family friend and stunning bouquets & flower crowns made by the mother of the groom. They spent the entire day before the wedding decorating the hall with paper lanterns, bunting, flowers and creating a lovely snug area on the balcony, it was a real labour of love.
On the day Charlie got ready with her bridesmaids and her man of honour, who looked incredible in his teal suit with floral tie and contrasting floral shirt (a trend only few men can pull off). They all travelled together on a beautiful vintage bus with bright red and blue seats, adding so much colour and fun to the photos. Charlie, being the beautiful boho woman that she is, let her personality shine through wearing her bride vibe Toms for the ceremony and wearing no shoes at all for the rest of the time. She also had henna drawn on her hands ahead of the big day that looked incredible against her lace dress and bright bouquet.
After the ceremony I took the couple off to a secret garden across the road from the venue for some photos, before heading to a nearby wheat field to get more shots. While in the secret garden the couple had time to enjoy each other’s company alone for the first time, it was a great opportunity to capture some beautiful moments between them.
Harry and Charlie wanted their day and their photos to be full of fun and that is certainly what they got. Their family and friends got involved in all aspects of the day (and evening) to make it the best day for the bride and groom. Everyone really got into the spirit of the day, and they were all really up for having a laugh and making it a fun wedding. Charlie even persuaded the bridesmaids and groomsmen to run with them down the road in the rain without umbrellas. An epic couple and an epic DIY Summer wedding!
